About Agriculture Tools Associate role

The Agriculture Tools Associate is a key member of myAgro’s team, contributing to myAgro’s short-term and long-term tool development strategies.  As your career advances at myAgro, you will progressively have the opportunity to give feedback and input into myAgro’s agricultural strategy.  Successful contribution to myAgro’s agricultural strategy stems from a strong understanding of myAgro’s mission and model, deep farmer and field intuition, and the ability to balance short-term and long-term objectives. You will be focused on providing the field team with the technical know-how, to ensure purchase, roll-out, assembling, delivery, and service plan of existing tools (i.e. precision planner). 

Technical development and improvement of tools 

  • Provide technical support as needed for after-sales service & repairs
  • Provide technical for procurement and negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Develop and adapt existing tools based on a HCD design approach to ensure we create more impact to our farmer’s
  • Work with agricultural and field teams to understand farmers’ needs
  • Prototype and test new tools and improvements to existing tools

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 2 year’s work experience and prior project management experience in mechanical, industrial engineering, product design or related field.
  • French and English proficiency required
  • Comfortable using CAD software for rapid prototyping & initial modeling, FEA analysis and production of final drawings for manufacturing (Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent experience in SolidWorks, OnShape, Fusion or Creo/PTC).

Desired qualifications

  • Experience with design for manufacturability, especially for cost reduction
  • Experience with affordable design for low-resource environments
  • Deep experience with Human Centered Design principles and methods
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Creative and versatile approach to problem-solving; solution-oriented
  • Detail-oriented and organised
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross culturally
  • As with any start up, flexibility, a sense of humor and an open mind are necessary for success
