About Gender Dynamics Research Fellow role 
The Gender Dynamics Research Fellow position, based in Thies, is a core role within myAgro that will help accelerate myAgro’s ability to scale, reach 100% sustainability and increase its impact. Reporting to the Thies-based Field Operations Manager, you will be tasked with investigating important questions of gender dynamics in smallholder farmer agricultural practices. With a mix of field and office-based work, you will conduct field research of women’s planting practices and financial services preferences, with the goal of helping myAgro design products and programs to better meet the needs of women farmers.



  • Create farmer surveys and draft and execute survey plan: Work in coordination with the field operations and monitoring & evaluation teams to draft and execute a field survey to gather female farmer data, including both basic demographic information and information specific to their participation in the myAgro program
  • Analyze survey results: Analyze the results of your survey and write a report of the findings for use by the field and leadership teams.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree (in progress) in a related field
  • French proficiency (intermediate to advanced)
  • Previous relevant work experience in data analysis, monitoring & evaluation, program management and/or project management
  • Previous cross-cultural experience, preferably non-western and for a period of 3 months or more
  • Strategic thought process and strong data analytics skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and creative approach to problem-solving
  • As with any start up, flexibility, a sense of humor and an open mind are necessary
  • A passion for the mission, vision and values of myAgro



  • Modest stipend, plus housing and transport to/from airport. All work-related in-country expenses will be provided. myAgro is also happy to support the chosen applicant to apply for any grants that might help cover internship costs.
