About Government Relations Fellow role 
The Government Relations Fellow position, based in Thies, is a core role within myAgro that will help accelerate myAgro’s ability to scale, reach 100% sustainability and increase its impact. Reporting to the Thies-based Development Manager and working closely with your counterpart in Mali, you will be part of myAgro’s Development and Communications team, which is responsible for helping myAgro reach its ambitious goals in West Africa. You will gain a breadth of experience in designing and implementing a government outreach strategy that will support myAgro to increase visibility with governmental stakeholders within Senegal.



  • Stakeholder mapping: Research and define the key government stakeholders in Senegal that are relevant for myAgro
  • Outreach strategy development and implementation: Develop outreach strategies for relevant stakeholders and define and execute those activities per stakeholder
  • Develop communication materials: Write and produce content for a government stakeholder audience, such as newsletters for mayors, that will help increase visibility of myAgro operations in Senegal

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • French and English proficiency
  • Previous relevant work experience in communication, government relations, or project management
  • Previous cross-cultural experience, preferably non-western and for a period of 3 months or more
  • Strategic thought process and strong data analytics skills
  • Proven ability to work independently on important projects
  • A passion for the mission, vision and values of myAgro


Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Master's degree (in progress) in a related field
  • Strong MS Office experience, particularly using Excel
  • Creative and versatile approach to problem-solving; solution-oriented
  • Proven, strong communication skills and ability to work cross culturally
  • As with any start up, flexibility, a sense of humor and an open mind are necessary



  • Modest stipend, plus housing and transport to/from airport. All work-related in-country expenses will be provided. myAgro is also happy to support the chosen applicant to apply for any grants that might help cover internship costs.
