About This Role

At myAgro, we have a focus on learning. Accordingly, our trainings focus on changing behaviors and equipping team members and farmers with the pragmatic tools and knowledge to achieve our mission.  As a Content Developer, you will work with our Agriculture and Field Operations teams to identify and address training needs. At the farmer level, we help farmers change behavior and learn how to use our inputs and correctly apply our techniques. The Content Developer will be responsible for the design, creation, coordination, and implementation of learning content. In addition, this role will help design processes and systems to scale these trainings. You will leverage Human centered design (HCD) principles and adult learning pedagogy to ensure adoption and that learning outcomes are achieved. 

The Content Developer will report to the Director of Agriculture in creating content in all countries where myAgro operates: currently Senegal, Mali and Tanzania.

More specifically:

Content and Training Responsibilities

  • Be a strategic thought partner to identify learning solutions that align with the myAgro’s talent strategy, mission and goals
    • Collaborate with HR and Department Directors to identify skills gaps and training needs
    • Evaluate current training and make recommendations for improvements
    • Create training content and solicit feedback from teams
    • Coordinate content creation between different teams
    • Identify, engage and coordinate with contractors for content creation (radio, video, printing, etc…)
    • Coordinate across departments with procurement and admin teams for procuring and distributing content creation
    • Create communication materials to pitch the learning content internally
    • Design and deliver content to support the training plan
  • Work with M&E teams to monitor the impact of the different learning content created
    • Define learning objectives and outcomes
    • Design a measurement approach and track and assess the effectiveness of solutions
    • Conduct regular evaluations to determine training effectiveness t and iterate content as needed
  • Knowledge Management
    • Develop a comprehensive training plan to support and enhance myAgro’s strategic growth and increase our team effectiveness
    • Record and codify myAgro’s content development processes for replication in new regions and countries.
    • Develop a knowledge management system centralizing training content
    • Incorporate best practices and innovations to meet myAgro’s needs

Agriculture Responsibilities

  • Design sprint and drive forward prototyping of product guidance approach for each crop for different key agriculture practices
    • Evaluate different rural marketing approaches useable for persuasive product guidance (video, in person, radio, flyers, podcasts, etc…)
    • Conduct farmer interviews and use HCD approach in order to develop content for each of the approaches chosen
    • Get buy-in from myAgro staff into content
    • Prototype content, trial and evaluate 
    • Finalize content

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A passion for the mission, vision and values of myAgro
  • Experience in change management, behavior change communication, and cross-cultural communication
  • Cross-cultural competency Understands cultural difference and can both work within diverse teams and adapt learning content accordingly 
  • Experience with content creation leveraging human centered design principles,
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a professional setting, primarily in content development and facilitation 
  • Experience in both written and video content development, preferably in a developing country context
  • Experience training groups with diverse needs and levels of education and literacy
  • Ability to operate effectively in an international matrix environment, with ability to work across time zones.
  • At least 2 years of international, developing country experience relevant to understanding training realities and limitations
  • French and English proficiency
